From Japan, with Care: Three Generations of Craftsmanship
When we decided to start a swimwear brand in 2018, we had nothing but passion and no idea what we were doing. We began working through an introduced OEM company, determined to create high-quality, Japan-made swimwear. Looking back, we probably asked for too much, but thanks to countless revisions and everyone’s support, we managed to bring our designs to life.
Even so, we always felt uneasy—not really knowing which factories or people were making our swimwear. Running the brand kept us busy, and we hadn’t yet figured out our own way.
Then a new idea came: what if we worked directly with a factory? Leaving our comfortable relationship with the OEM took courage, but we knew change was necessary.
“Make our production process transparent.”
Starting from scratch, we found a long-established factory. Since just after World War II, they have specialized in women’s underwear, sportswear, and stretch swimwear. Their strength lies in combining meticulous craftsmanship and traditional techniques with innovative ideas. The third-generation owner understood our vision and learning process, and we finalized the contract.
Now, working hand-in-hand with this factory, we can create the highest-quality swimwear—pieces that truly live up to the “you’ll feel the difference” standard. Streamlining and making the process transparent has allowed us to produce even better items.
We’ve often been told, “Even if it’s made abroad, operations in Japan can ensure quality” or “It would be way cheaper.” But we remain committed to 100% Japan-made swimwear—not just for quality, but for pride in Japanese craftsmanship, attention to detail, and supporting the domestic economy.
eit swim will always be growing and evolving. Even so, we feel we are gradually moving in the direction we truly want. We hope you’ll continue to follow and support us. Swimwear that feels good for both the makers and the wearer—this is what we strive for.
