#10 Sea Together founder / filmmaker BRIANNA ORTEGA
Our interview series, "Around eit swim: People We Love", features those who support and inspire us. We’re sharing real voices from the people who wear and love eit swim.
For #10, we spoke with Brianna Ortega, a surfer who grew up along the Pacific coast, between Hawai‘i, California, and the Pacific Northwest. With 20 years of surfing experience, she is also a filmmaker, artist, and university art proffessor. Brianna is the founder of Sea Together, a women’s surf community that hosts events, surf retreats, and coaching sessions, and also operates as a podcast and media platform. She is a valued part of the eit swim community, both personally and through Sea Together.

- What’s your favorite piece from eit swim, and why?

I really love the bottoms a lot because they are the most functionally designed bottoms I have tried for surfing. I like how they are made for sitting on a surfboard without moving.
– Has wearing eit swim changed anything in your lifestyle or how you feel in the water?
I feel more confident paddling out and surfing without worrying about adjusting things and my bottoms. I also love the simple design and feminine design.
– What matters most to you when choosing swimwear?
I think it’s important to have something both feminine and functional so we can feel good and confident on the waves.
– What do you love most about eit swim?
I really like how sustainably made it is. I also really appreciate small business run by women who are intentional about what they make, and they surf too. Buy clothing and swimwear from woman surfer-owned businesses!
– How would you describe eit swim to others?
I tell others to get eit swim if you want something fashion forward, helping the environment and surf forward! I also believe in companies who I like the founder and the founder of eit is a really good person. Support good people and good values. Life is too short to buy crap and not buy things you believe in. We are the change we wish to see in the world through our purchase of what we support.
